Circle time

Circle time, a time-honored practice in early childhood education, is a powerful tool for fostering holistic development in children. This interactive and inclusive activity has a multitude of benefits that expand academic learning, promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth beyond any limits, while Introducing children to any topic you may think off. The sky is not the limit!

By gathering children in a circle, educators establish an environment that encourages openness, collaboration, and mutual respect. Each Circle Time is planned and thought through, as part of daily lesson plan structure. Amang such Important skills as ability to gather everyone into one space with the intention to work as a group, greet each other at the begging of this work and thank each other at the end of the work, at our Circle Times children learn:

  • names of the months,
  • numbers and the concept of one-to-one correspondence, by counting days of the month, days of the week,
  • days of the week,
  • seasons and the weather conditions.

Children get introduced to "agenda of the meeting" in a fun and playful way through selected songs, felt board stories, finger plays, Interactive sangs with the movements according to the topic of the day.

Each child is given an opportunity to have their own unput in this meeting by being encourages to participate in discussions where they can express their thoughts and ideas, share their experiences, and ask questions, while being in a safe place facilitated by a teacher. The educator's goal is to establish an environment that encourages openness, collaboration, and mutual respect. Circle Time discussions allow the group to tap Into other topics and the teachers to take notes of what children are interested in or curious about. Later teachers will expend on these topics when planning their next circle time, during Story Times, or will use these notes as a teachable moment in Interactions with the children throughout the day.
